Fall Pillows and Mantle

I so wish we had smell-a-blog....then you could smell the chili sauce cooking upstairs! I absolutely love Autumn and all of the sights and smells that come with it.

So while the chili sauce doesn't need my constant attention, I can share my fall mantle with you. It will be changing soon for Halloween, so look fast. I love the little scarecrows...they were on clearance at Bealls last winter for $.99. Love that I can use them until Thanksgiving!

The lantern I bought from Celebrating Home. It is one of my favorite pieces to decorate with. The gingham pumpkin I made with dollar store items  in this post

One more shot of just the mantle.....and you can see the garland on the fireplace a little. Lurve my arched fireplace!

The hearth has 2, count 'em, 2 super Saturday projects! The first is my fabular candle holders. { I change the candle rings with the different seasons.}

The other is my fabric pumpkins! The little armed forces bear will be hanging out until my brother gets home sometime next year.

The projects I've copied from all of you creative bloggers are next!! My house would look so plain and boring if it wasn't for all of you. This cute little cloche was copied from Allison at House of Hepworths. It's one of her top copied projects.
On to the pillows......I can't believe that I actually finished them!!
The first two, I can't remember where the total idea came from...help me if you've seen them.

The embroidery pattern is from The Graphics Fairy. The leaf and pumpkin patterns may have come from there too.

I also stitched around all of the appliques.

I truly don't remember where I found this one. I saved the picture last fall and forgot to save the blog name with it. I am so sorry, if it's yours, let me know so that I can give proper credit. I fell in love with the little poem and the all over cuteness of this little pillow.

This one and it's sister are a pair that  I found Tatertots and Jello . Jen painted hers, and I chose to applique mine.

This cute little one I've seen everywhere. It has been on pillows, hair clips, wreaths, etc. So, here is my version!
I'm so glad that my grandma had a sewing room stash......and that I inherited some of it!!! The buttons and lace were free to me!! All of the pillows are slip-covered so that I don't have to store a bunch of pillows. The covers will fit neatly into the storage tub with the other fall decor.

So that's it! I think I'd better get back to the kitchen. It sure smells good!  I'd love to see what you've been up to!
Party on peeps,

Zebra Duck Tape Love

Oh my heck!! I fell in love with zebra stripe duck tape while waiting to pay for some other things at the craft store.  What could I make with it? How much do I need? Will the hubs be upset?  And then it jumped into my hand and begged to go home with me! Who am I to deny the poor, little, homeless duck tape?

So I started making plans all the way home. Thank goodness that I had an empty laundry soap box! (Yes, with all of the man cubs in the house, I have to buy the jumbo size boxes.) I didn't have to wait long for a project.

I removed the lid and covered it with the pretty new tape.

Added some ribbon and a couple of buttons......

And voila!! a new place to stash my favorite trade magazines!! And it's all nice and girly, so you have no doubt that it belongs to me!!

I'm loving it! What have you found to cover with duct(k) tape??

It's In The Air...

Do you see this??

It's on its way, and I'm not sure if I'm ready. I know what you're thinking, 'It's your favorite season of the year'. I usually can't wait, but I just started getting tomatoes, I'm not ready for it to cool down.

I am ready, however, to drag out my favorite decorations and see how I can use them this year. So ready or not, here they are!!

Here's the entry way with the little white table that is now....ta da....black!! The pumpkin is an idea here at Under My Umbrella. I added an extra piece to make mine a little taller. I'm kind of liking the less is more look here.

Outside the front door I wanted to do something different. So I sent the hubs off to get a bale of straw....I didn't realize that they were about 3 times the size I was planning on!! So I had to rethink my plan. Luckily I didn't burn too many brain cells. And I like this better than the original idea!

Here's a view from the front door. And yep, they are all faux pumpkins! My favorite kind! They last year after year!!
The front porch is almost the way that I like it....
The smaller scarecrow needs a new hat, but it will have to wait until I can get to St. George, or I try to make one my self....hmmmm. I'll probably just buy one.

The inside of the house is almost done and I'll share this later. Have fun decorating and sharing your 'fall' love!!

Party on!!
