Little Painted Buddies

I have been wanting to link up to the The CSI Project for a while now. I've been very intimidated by the other projects that have been shown. But this time, it's going to be different! I will be brave!! I have loved these little darlings ever since I finished them.

I helped a friend teach classes in her ceramics shop a few years ago, BHS (before hair school). I really enjoyed the time that I spent with the people that came.  Everyone worked on their own projects from the greenware stage to the finished product.
Cute lil' punkin boy

Too cute to spook!
Lil' Witchy Poo and her kitty too.

I don't know if this is what they meant by 'Painted Halloween', but I did paint them and they are for my favorite holiday.

with the flash on.....

I kind of miss having the class, but I don't know when I'd fit it in now. Any way, I hope you enjoyed my painted buddies! I know I do! What have you painted for Halloween?

Berry Bucket

A few weeks ago, we took the boys up the mountain to pick Elderberries.  Upon reaching our favorite spot, we discovered that the late frost didn't do us any favors last spring.  So we decided to pick the abundance of Chokecherries instead!  While we were busy picking the luscious berries, my niece found this old metal bucket hiding  in a bush off the side of the road.
I wonder if this counts as a road kill rescue? I think that it should.  Any way, it was a dirty, oily little mess.  My niece was in love with it as was her auntie.  We filled it full of berries and hauled it home.  She very grudgingly let me take it home.

I love how old it looks, and I love the cute little wood handle!
If you look really close, you can kind of still make out the label on the bucket.  I wish that it hadn't faded quite so much.  But this made it a little easier for me to put something else on it.  So I made a little trip over to the Graphics Fairy  to get the cutest little label ever!  I mod-podged it on and filled it with some of my left-over leaves and flowers.
I love how it looks right at home by the front door......and the beautiful hammered, amber glass adds to the festiveness, don't ya think?  I have been dying to use this seed packet label ever since I first saw it.  I think that I need to find a pumpkin to add to the arrangement before it will truly be finished.  This will probably stay by the door until Thanksgiving at least!  What have you rescued lately??
